The Sefton Gunners clash with Wales.
Another bloody battle by the sounds of things, Many Thanks to John Heritage.
Gunners 55 - 55 Mold
Sunday
18th Feb brought clear skies and an engrossing heavyweight boxing competition
between the Gunners and an experienced Mold team. The Reds slugged it out punch
for punch with the Welsh team as the game flowed rapidly with one team's score
being negated minutes later. This match saw a great deal of stamina and resolve
from the lads with some excellent support work providing points on the board
for mercurial Daniel Murphy (5 tries and clear man of the match for his swift
and mazy running), Tom Corcoran and Adam Dealing with 2 tries a piece, a point
for the Gunner's own Kamikaze Scott Heritage and one for Steve Sada.
The
opposition better be insured when the latter two start contact rugby later in
the year. The points wouldn't have materialised without some determined
defensive and linking work from Gunners Charlie Martin, Michael Wallace, Shaun
Nunnen and Lewis Grierson. Congratulations to Joseph Eyers on his first
appearance and a big thanks to Captain James Daniels who led the team to a very
satisfying 55-55 draw.
An exciting spectacle, well done lads.
